Common questions, answered here
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone. Your check-ins, dose history, protocols, inventory, labs and photos are stored locally on the device and are not uploaded to a server. No account is required to use the app, and there is no cloud sync — which also means your log does not automatically appear on a second device, and it does not survive deleting the app.
The only data that leaves the device is anonymous, first-party product analytics and crash diagnostics, which never contain hormone names, doses, symptom values or free text. The privacy policy sets this out in full.
I am getting a new phone. How do I keep my log?
Because the data is local, use a device-level transfer or an encrypted backup and restore rather than expecting it to sync. Before you switch, it is worth exporting a clinician report so you have a readable copy of your recent history regardless of what happens to the app data.
One exception worth knowing: progress photos are deliberately excluded from device backups for privacy reasons, so they will not carry across in a restore. Save any you want to keep somewhere else first.
How do I get a report for my clinician?
The app generates a single-page PDF you can share or print, containing your current regimen, dose and route changes over the last six months, twelve weeks of hot-flash trend and symptom averages, a ninety-day bleeding calendar where applicable, recent lab results against typical ranges, and the questions you have flagged for the visit. It is generated on the device and nothing is uploaded to produce it.
For what to do with it once you have it, see what to bring to a menopause appointment.
How do I delete everything?
There is a "delete all data" action in the app's settings, which removes your local data without you having to uninstall. Deleting the app itself also removes the on-device store. If you want any anonymous analytics or crash records associated with your device removed as well, email contact@hrtai.app and we will handle it.
Billing, refunds and cancellation
Subscriptions are processed by Apple, not by us, so cancellations and refunds go through your Apple account rather than through this inbox — Settings, then your Apple Account, then Subscriptions on iOS, or Apple's "Report a Problem" page for refund requests. We receive entitlement status only and never see your payment details.
If a purchase is not unlocking correctly, try Restore Purchases first, and email us if that does not resolve it. That one we can fix.
Reminders are not arriving
Almost always a notification permission or Focus setting rather than the app. Check that notifications are allowed for HRT AI in iOS Settings, that the relevant Focus mode is not filtering them, and that the protocol itself is active rather than paused. If all three look right, email us with your iOS version.
Is there an Android version?
No. HRT AI is iPhone only at present, and there is no Android build or web version. The guides on this site are readable on any device.
What languages does the app support?
The app is localized into fourteen languages, including English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Swedish, Danish and Norwegian. This website is currently available in English, German, French and Spanish; the guides are English only.
What this inbox cannot help with
We can help with the software. We cannot answer clinical questions, and we will not try.
That means no advice on what to take, what dose, whether to start or stop, what your lab results mean, or whether a symptom you are having is expected. Those questions need someone who knows your history and can examine you. If you email us one, we will say exactly this and point you at a clinician — not because we are being unhelpful, but because a software team answering it would be doing you harm.
If you have sudden or severe symptoms — chest pain, breathlessness, new one-sided leg pain or swelling, a severe new headache, vision or speech changes, or unexplained vaginal bleeding — contact emergency services or attend an emergency department. Do not email us and wait.
